Hey everyone!

I kept my old username so I'm sure you all know who I am. Currently in a little quarter life crisis, not sure what I wanna do with my life . I'm studying for a Master in Film Studies, and no, I don't know what I wanna do with that . If you have any questions or so feel free to ask them. It's good to see you all on this board.

Hi again Eve. What have you been up to other than your schooling?

Hi! Good to see you again. How's things?

Kev - I haven't been up to much, actually. Same old same old. I had my exams in January so all I did then was studying. Last week I went on a citytrip to Budapest with 4 friends for a few days, so it was really nice to get out again and be away from everything! I really needed that.

Besides that, I'm still dancing... Gonna quit teaching, though. I don't like it as much anymore as I used to so I don't wanna do something like that if I'm not motivated enough.

Just started my second semester now and waiting for better weather.. It's snowing again and I've really had enough of this stupid, long, cold, dark winter. We're not used to so much cold and snow in Belgium, it's been the worst winter as far as I can remember!


Fiona - I'm alright, could be better, just have some personal stuff I need to work out. It'll get better.

Odd about the weather. Odd here too. All the storms are passing to the south of here, so places that usually only get light snow are buried. It's snowing here today, and they said we'd get a lot. It's been snowing since before I got up, and it hasn't even gotten enough to cover the ground yet. They canceled every school in the state for it too

Dan - Hiii, no not anymore tonight, I've just seen ep 1 (so just the first part of the two parter) of Lost, it was so weird! But it was good. So gonna watch the 2nd ep/part now and maybe this weeks episode too...

Kev - Yeah I still enjoy the dancing. I couldn't miss it! I would probably go crazy without it at certain times! But two weeks ago I kind of stretched a muscle in my leg during the competition, and I still can't dance now.. Stupid leg. I didn't even go to the doctors (oops) even though I limped for 2 days after it. It doesn't hurt anymore now when I walk, just in the morning a little and when I dance... It really sucks cuz I gotta be able to dance again by this Saturday

That's funny they cancelled schools for that! Something like that never happens here because our snow storms aren't usually that bad. This morning there was the longest traffic jam EVER in Belgium (literally), our country is just not used to a little unexpected snow . It's silly, actually.

Ooh, okay, I thought you had watched the two parter by now, haha! But glad to hear you still liked it so far!! Enjoy the rest then, it's awesome!

I think here they cancelled some schools cause of the snow too, but it's really rare though. But still, lucky them. Why couldn't it snow so much when I was still going to school.

And I hope your leg is gonna be fine again soon.

Sorry about your leg, those things need some time to heal completely, but it's good if it doesn't hurt when you walk anymore....
Can i ask why you don't enjoy teaching anymore? I recall you loved it!

Well, it's not that I hate it or anything. Usually I like it, but I'm just not motivated enough anymore to prepare the classes, cuz that also takes some time/effort. So lately I had to find something last minute and that's just not really an ideal way. So someone took over my classes during my exams and she's gonna take over the class. I had already decided it was gonna be my last months anyway. It's my 3rd year already and it's been enough for me. No other particular reason.

OMG, Eve! I hope your leg feels better soon! Can you walk on it?

How was your Budapest trip?

Also, have you started school already? What classes are you taking this semester?

Oops, forgot!! Did you like Budapest?? It is a gorgeous city, isn't it? Did you enjoy more Buda or Pest?

Lara - Yeah it's better already, don't worry! These things just take some time to heal but I'll be the old me in no time.

Budapest was really, really great. Also very cold and snowy! I had a lot of fun exploring the city and having fun with my friends! Exactly what I needed after all the studying! We didn't do any museums or anything because we didn't have the time, but we just walked around the city (for a few hours with a guide), took pictures, got lots of hot chocolate to warm up, went to a party, met some great people from Italy, Mexico and the States and of course Hungary . Also the tour guide offered us a shot of this really strong Hungarian drink to warm up, OMG, I thought my gullet was on fire . He kinda drank a lot of that though. But yeah that was funny.. He was great.

To answer Di's question, yeah it's a gorgeous city! Hm I'm not sure, we were mostly in Pest because that's where most touristic activities are and also our Hostel was there. We went to Buda 2 times, over the Chain bridge and then up to the Buda Castle, which was absolutely beautiful and also the view we had on top over Pest was amazing!! Especially by night, with all the lights and the snow.. But other than that we didn't see that much of Buda, actually...


Lara again, yeah I started my classes this week! Here's my schedule:

MONDAY:
10:30AM - 12:30AM Media Ethics

TUESDAY:
9:30AM - 12:30AM Culture and Media Theory
2PM - 5PM Introduction to Philosophy

THURSDAY:
1PM - 4PM Social and Political History

FRIDAY:
9:30AM - 12:30AM Media; Structure and Operation

Can't say that much yet, except I really really really don't like Philosophy. I already hate the content, but the professor is even worse. He's like from the middle ages and doesn't even use powerpoint, just some random slides with POST ITS (!!) on it and stuff which he doesn't put on Blackboard. And I know, these are all general classes and most aren't even that Film related, but oh well, after these I'm done with general classes and next year it should be all Film.

Looks like there's some interesting stuff in there though.

Are you dancing in a competition on Sat?

Haha, I was gonna say that your Philosophy class sounds terrible and incredibly boring! Looks like I was right!

And all of the other Media classes you're taking makes it seem as though you're going for a Media Studies degree, not a Film degree. Weird...

I saw your Budapest pics on FB (briefly), but I need to look at them more closely and comment on them! Sounds like you had a really fun and much deserved trip! You've been there before, right? Or was it your first time in Budapest?

How's the workload so far? Have you made any friends who are doing the same Masters program as you?

Fiona - No, today we have our annual spaghetti night (to raise some money), which is working really hard (over 200 people will come and eat!) and at the end of the day we have to perform... Yep the same dance as the on where I had that thing with at the last competition. Hm. I hope it'll be okay. Not looking forward to today though, it's always sooo exhausting.


Juan - Thanks! Viktor is doing great! He has gotten big and you really see progress each week... Now he's already creeping/crawling (what's the word?) so yeah i think we're gonna be chasing him around the house soon enough


Lara - Tell me about it. But in fact, in Belgium a Film studies degree is part of a Communications major... So I think that's why. But next year it should be all Film, though. If I haven't quited by then. At this moment I don't feel like continuing.

It was my first time in Budapest! Never been there before.

Workload so far is okay, seems like it's gonna be busy again though. And I have met a few people who are in the same program as me, yes.
