Jersey Shore is a reality television series on MTV that follows eight housemates spending their summer on the New Jersey Shore:

Angelina "Jolie" Pivarnick
Angelina, a New York City bartender, proclaims herself as "the Kim Kardashian of Staten Island" due to her "all natural" figure. A very outspoken individual, she causes conflicts within the shore house primarily between male castmates. She starts out the season with a serious relationship at home and intends on remaining faithful.

Jenni "JWoww" Farley
Jenni, aka JWoww, is a graphic designer and club promoter from Franklin Square, New York. She refers to herself as a praying mantis when it comes to her relationships with men. However, JWoww enters the shore house with a steady relationship at home with a man whom she claims to love.

Michael "The Situation" Sorrentino
Mike, an assistant manager of a fitness center in Staten Island, refers to himself as "The Situation." A confident individual, he strikes up friendships, romances and performs well as an employee in the t-shirt shop. Although cocky on the outside, The Situation has a sensitive side and aspires to settle down in the future.

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi
Nicole "Snooki" is a self proclaimed "guidette" from Marlboro, New York outside of Poughkeepsie and an aspiring veterinary technician. She describes her ideal man as one who fits the guido stereotype and enters the experience hoping to meet the man of her dreams.

Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio
Paul "DJ Pauly D" is a Disc Jockey from Johnston, Rhode Island outside of Providence. He owns a tanning bed in his house and spends around 25 minutes daily on his hair. As a DJ, he is very confident around women and easily strikes up romances down at the Shore.

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro
Ronnie hails from The Bronx in New York City and sports a muscular appearance. He enters the experience with the intent of not falling in love at the Jersey Shore.

Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola
Sammi "Sweetheart" calls herself "the sweetest bitch you'll ever meet", hailing from Hazlet, New Jersey. Recently single, she enters this experience with the sole intent of having fun. She attended William Paterson University and was a midfielder on the women's soccer team. When it comes to relationships, Sammi is described by her friends as a "heartbreaker".

Vinny Guadagnino
Vinny comes from a traditional Italian family in Staten Island. A self proclaimed "mama's boy", Vinny is ready to enjoy his first summer as a 21 year old at the shore.

“If you have good people, they should have a good time no madder where they go,” The Situation said. Although the boys missed most of the celeb pre-Super Bowl weekend festivities, we decided to get their take on what celebs they’d like to party with.

1. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes OR The Hills girls?
The Situation: “I’m not even hating on Cruise, because Cruise is cool but I’d probably go with The Hills, because it’s a younger crowd and that’s our generation.”

Pauly D: “The Hills would be a good time.”

2. NFL Players OR Gossip Girls?
Pauly D: “The NFL Players.“

The Situation: “The Gossip Girls are good looking though. I’m going Hollywood on that one.”

3. Kim Kardashian OR Kendra?
The Situation: “Oh hell! Kim Kardashian all the way! Kendra ain’t got nothing on Kim. We don’t hate on anybody. Maybe it’s just my taste, my opinion. I like girls with dark hair and Kim’s got dark hair.”

Pauly D: “Kim’s got a nice body. She’s a beautiful girl.”

Meanwhile, Fashion Week head honcho and IMG vice-president Fern Mallis is busy wrapping up preparations for the shows, which begin their last season in Bryant Park on Thursday. She said IMG is planning a party in the tents to bid adieu to Bryant Park after the last show ends. Mallis, who said she wouldn't turn down a reality show, was wary of the Jersey Shore cast making it into the tents this season. When informed that America's youth looks to the Shore cast for style advice and that JWOWW is launching a line she replied, "That's scary. That's scary." What did she think of their fashion sense? "Hard to comment, and hard to use fashion in the same sentence with that."

Robert Verdi shared similar sentiments. "I wouldn't follow it for fashion advice. It's more like how not to live," he said of the show. "I wouldn't dress any of them — I don't think any of them would clean up well. I mean, there are some people who just clean up well. Snooki would be fun because she's the breakout star — because she got punched in the face. She would be fun to dress but difficult to dress — she's short and wide." So he still has no filter.

A potential "grenade" was deflected today, as a judge ruled against a New Jersey man attempting to halt tomorrow’s release of the Jersey Shore Season 1 DVD. Stephen Izzo Jr., who says he was beaten by cast member Ronnie Magro on-camera, filed a civil lawsuit in Ocean County Superior Court against Ronnie, MTV, and Viacom, claiming that the release of the DVD box set would result in “profiting off of Ronnie’s alleged criminal act" (Ronnie was charged with assault in the incident). Izzo also sued for invasion of privacy and for the unauthorized use of his likeness and image.
The judge determined that the DVD could still be released because Izzo’s face was blurred out and there was no proof that the DVD’s release would cause him "any financial or irreparable harm.” Situation avoided.
