Interesting one, from Hollywoodlife.com:

EXCLUSIVE! Find Out What I Learned Spending The Day With Lauren Conrad!

Check out what Lauren Conrad spilled to me about her future TV plans, secret celebrity crush, beauty must-haves and so much more!

I’ve been a huge Lauren Conrad fan since the very first episode of Laguna Beach all those years ago and I loyally followed her when she moved to The Hills. So, when mark cosmetics invited me to go out to DePaul University in Chicago to join Lauren on her m.powerment by mark campus tour I happily jumped at the chance. Hang out with Lauren for a day? Why, of course!

I met up with Lauren on Feb. 25 before she went on stage to talk about her m.powerment by mark campaign to fight dating abuse and sign copies of her new book, Sweet Little Lies. Lauren looked super cute in a navy blue French Connection dress and sky high black peep-toe Louboutins. “I don’t match!” she joked before heading on stage.

We hung out backstage and chatted about everything from her new ombre colored hair, to her first drink on her 21st birthday (champagne, duh!), to how you can tell if a guy is right for you based on his favorite soup (FYI, ladies, according to Lauren you DON’T want to date a corn chowder lover!) to her future TV plans. Plus, I was lucky enough to watch her talented glam squad, makeup artist Amy Nadine Rosenberg and hair stylist Kristin Ess get her camera ready. I definitely picked up some great tips that I’ll be sharing with you! And, since I’m sure you’re all dying to know. Yes, she really is that pretty in person. And yes, she really is that nice and cool too! I also learned a lot about LC, too.

She’s really passionate about her involvement with mark m.powerment.

* “I wanted to do something that affected young women. I liked this because I feel like its not one that’s addressed a lot and I thought it fit in with their brand because its all about women being independent and empowered. When you think of abusive and unhealthy relationships you think of older women. You don’t think of a 15-year-old with her first boyfriend. But that’s when you’re learning about relationships. You’re setting the guidelines about what you’re going to follow for the rest of your life. I think it’s important to educate women from the beginning so that when they’re having these relationships and learning about dating they’re doing it in a healthy way.”

She isn’t denying a new reality show in the works!

* When I asked Lauren if she was coming back to TV anytime soon she said, “Possibly. What did you hear? That’s very interesting that you’ve heard that. It would be nice to find a balance. I left and it was this huge sigh of relief. I was like ‘I’m done!’ It was so nice to just have a personal life and be able to breathe. And have stuff on my face and not care. When you’re on camera a lot you just have this weight where you have to think about everything you say and you have to make sure your hair doesn’t look funky and you have to do your makeup. It’s an added pressure so when that was gone it was really nice. But I really loved working on the show. It was just the personal stuff I didn’t like. If I can find the balance where I can do what I was doing but I don’t want it to ever affect my friends and family and relationships.”

She’s got a super random celebrity crush!

* “Dirty Jobs, Mike Rowe, that’s my boyfriend! He’s a charming man. He is! He’s like so nice and then he’ll break into song. He was an opera singer. I was watching one where he was cleaning organ pipes and then he started singing. I watch it sometimes and it makes me feel better about my job. I have to reason to complain.”

She really does write her own books and loves it! And, wants to write more!

* “It’s a really fun process. The first one was kind of stressful for me because I’d never done it before. Once you get it down and you learn to stick to a schedule it gets better. The second one I enjoyed a lot more. I have the whole next week set aside to write because I’m a little behind. The third book is where she pulls herself back out of it. I hope to write another series. But I’m trying to finish my third one and then move on from there.”

She’s ready to start designing on her own.

* “I have my Upstairs line coming back – my party dress line. It will be very different though. I took a break from it because obviously I had my Kohl’s line. I want to do it on my own. Everything I’ve done has been partnerships and even if you have creative control, there’s always someone telling you what to do. So this one will be one my own. It’s very exciting but very scary.”

She’s all about ombre hair!

* “One of my friends that is way cooler than me did the thing where they literally dip your hair in bleach and she has dark roots and it looks so cool. I want to do it but I’m not cool enough to do it. This is more of a fade. It’s kind of like how my hair was before I touched it. The darker color is my natural color but I would go to the beach in the summer and it would bleach out and then grow out during the winter so in the spring this is how my hair would look.”

She’s a total Gleek!

* “I am obsessed with Glee. I’m counting down the days. I was listening to it this morning. I have all the songs down. Everybody loves Glee. I think you have to be able to sing but I would in a second guest star just so I can meet the cast. I like Rachel. The songs are so amazing. They’re cheesy and they own it.”

Lauren de-stresses by cutting her own hair!

* “I decide to cut my own hair when I get stressed so I have to do braids and twists to tie it back. I’ve decided several times to do bangs, and then I cut them and they look crazy. I did it once and I thought I looked like someone and then I go ‘OMG, I look like Hannah Montana!’ I had my hair straightened and I had bangs. When you stress out you want to change something.”

From TV Guide:

Lauren Conrad Swaps The Hills for Affordable Fashion

Fans of MTV's Laguna Beach and The Hills know that Lauren Conrad is no stranger to fashion. Now the 24-year-old former reality star is making her style accessible with a collection called LC Lauren Conrad. TVGuide.com spoke to her about creating an affordable line, why she decided to set aside her TV career and whether she misses The Hills.

TVGuide.com: Tell me about your new collection.
Lauren Conrad: [It's] all about taking new trends and putting our twist on them and doing the whole relaxed look that we love here in California. One of the overall trends we wanted to do is the pairing of masculine, feminine and that's taking more feminine romantic pieces and pairing them with something a little tougher. We have more masculine layering pieces like a biker jacket, we have a boyfriend blazer, but we also have a little eyelash skirt and a sheath dress that you can pair them with.

TVGuide.com: Why did you decide to create an affordable line?
Conrad: I don't think fashion is exclusive. Back when I was filming I had to do a new outfit every other day so it adds up. I was all about the discount shopping and I think when you can create really great pieces that are affordable and also accessible, then it's great.

TVGuide.com: What's your go-to piece?
Conrad: My favorite piece, and we've made it a staple, is the blazer. It can really pull a look together and also it makes things look a bit more polished.

TVGuide.com: What made you put your TV career behind and bring fashion to the forefront?
Conrad: Fashion has always been the end goal. It's been the constant since I was a little girl and all throughout doing the show. I knew it's where I wanted to end up so it was just about making the transition and taking it on full time.

TVGuide.com: Do you miss The Hills at all?
Conrad: I miss the fabulous crew I got to work with — that's about it.

I think they're normally meant to be straight.

Lauren Conrad is a very busy lady. With a fashion brand and best-selling novels with a movie adaptation in the works, what's the key to LC's success? Time management.

"Well, I meet up with the team several times a month and we have lots of conference calls," she said about how she manages to design her line while writing her "L.A. Candy" books as well as producing the film version. "It's just something I'm doing throughout the day. It's all about fitting it into your schedule. I don't sleep much."

She also juggles her duties, writing some days and designing clothes during others. "Well, they're all different. There are days when I spend my entire day writing. There's days like today where I'm dealing with the [fashion] line all day," she explained. "I've always loved fashion. It's always been my number one, but I'm really enjoying all the different things I'm getting to do right now."

So is LC going to add any new projects to her already busy schedule? The answer, for now, is no. "I like where I'm at right now," she said. "I think I'm at a good place where I'll see all those [projects] through."

For now, Conrad has hooked up with department store Kohl's for her LC by Lauren Conrad clothing brand — if fans have always admired the former "Hills" star's laid-back, girly sense of style, now they can achieve the look.

"It's very much a California brand. It's all about incorporating new trends and putting our own twist on it — relaxed cool without trying too hard," she told MTV News at a press event for the line, adding that there's a piece in her collection for every occasion.

She's everywhere!

Quote :
EXCLUSIVE: Lauren Conrad Names Her Dos And Don'ts For Getting Dressed This Spring

Who better to ask for some warm-weather fashion advice than the queen of sun-kissed California cool, Lauren Conrad? Her latest collection for Kohl's has just hit stores, and she's sharing her Dos and Don'ts for getting dressed this spring with Slaves to Fashion!

We rang Lauren up this morning to talk about designing her own line for Kohl's, her latest splurge, and the Dos and Don'ts of spring's biggest trends.

STF: So, what's life like post-Hills? Is it really different doing the designer thing than it was doing the TV thing?
LC: Well, I get to make my own schedule now, and that's nice. When you're filming and working on a TV series, you kind of have to compromise everything you do, and now I'm able to fully commit to everything I do, including my line for Kohl's.

STF: I noticed that you're the model in all of your lookbook shots for the new spring collection. How important is it to you to actually wear the clothes you design?
LC: I think if you're not willing to wear your own clothes, you're doing something wrong. With this line, it was kind of meant to be about my style and pieces I want to walk into a store and want to buy. If you're not wearing your own line, you're taking all the fun out of it. I wanted to just fill up my own closet with stuff I love!

STF: Do you have a favorite piece from this collection? If a girl could only splurge on one thing this spring, what should it be?
LC: I love blazers. We have one in every collection, and we usually update it and tweak it a little bit. In this specific collection I also really love the biker jacket we did. It was the most requested item from my friends!

STF: Speaking of splurges, what was your latest one?
LC: Hmm...it's probably shoes. It's always shoes! I just got a pair of brown Louboutins but it was just because I had this Miu Miu pair last season that I wore literally every other day, so I needed something new--those were kind of an update to those everyday shoes I love.

STF: You know since I'm from Glamour, I've gotta talk Dos and Don'ts. I'm going to name a few hot spring trends, and you tell me whether they're a Do or a Don't! Let's start with knee socks.
LC: Ooh. I love them in an editorial look. When I think knee socks I always go to that Sex and the City scene where Carrie wore them with a heel, which looked amazing but I've tried to do it and I cant. I think if it peeks out of a tall boot, like a riding boot, it works, but generally it's hard to pull off.

STF: How about the lingerie-inspired trend?
LC: That's a Do! I love that trend. It's about finding the lingerie inspired pieces, rather than wearing actually lingerie. And it's about layering--you want one piece in there, whether it's a cami or just some small lace detail on another piece. You don't want to show too much, but I think it's so feminine.

STF: Double denim? AKA the "Texas Tuxedo"?
LC: Don't. I can't do denim on denim. There are usually one or two trends a season I just don't get and this one of them. It's a hard look to class up.

STF: How about watercolor prints? A Do or a Don't?
LC: DO! I love watercolor prints. I think they're very romantic and kind of timeless. I almost did too much of it with this collection. When we were shopping for prints with Kohl's everything I picked was watercolor and floral. They're very in because of the whole Alice in Wonderland thing.

STF: And I have to ask, because they're everywhere this season...hot pants!
LC: Um...I love them in editorial. YSL just did one that looks fabulous on a model but I don't think they're something you can wear every day. I'd say try it as a bathing suit bottom instead. You can't wear them to the club, because you're going to look like one of the dancers, but they could look cute on the beach!

Shop the LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's collection now at kohls.com...then check out some amazing hair ideas from the former Hills star!
