| A few pics I took in Cologne I'm way too lazy to resize them so yeah, they are big. (okay apparently some are smaller *shrug*) And they're kind of the same as Dan's, though [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | |

| That cathedral looks huge. I don't know how they could even build that back in those days. What's the story behind all those locks? | |

| @ Kev: Yeah it is definitely huge! It's really hard to get it on a photo and when you're in front of it it's totally "woah" . The locks are on the bridge that you see in the 5th & 6th pic. On the entire side (so from one side of the river to the other) there are locks like that. People can hang them there and they are engraved with 2 names, so names of couples, they're "love locks". [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Here's another pic, there must have been thousands (or hundreds ) of locks! | Yay, piccies!! Loving them, thanks for posting! And I think imageshack is resizing pics when they are too large KB-wise so that's probably why some are smaller. And I agree about the cathedral. It always amazes me too how they managed to build such huge buildings back then. And I think that's a nice idea with the locks! Would love to do that too if I ever went to Cologne with my bf! | |

| Well the locks just surprised me, haha. I was like whaaat is this? But then we saw all the names engraved into it. The cathedral is definitely more impressive than the bridge . But I liked walking on the bridge and near the river too, just cuz I always love that when a river runs through a city. Walking near water is nice. There were also lotssss of shopping streets in Cologne. I think Germany is better for shopping than Belgium , cuz my mom says in a lot of big cities in Germany are like that (she's been in Germany more than me). Guess I need to go to Germany around Christmas time sometimes, cuz apparently the christmas markets are really big too. | |

| Yeah, I agree with Eve! The locks also just surprised me, but the cathedral was definitely more impressive! But I loved walking on the bridge and by the river side too, cause I also always love doing that! When I was in Hamburg on Monday, I spent most of my time by the river. Hahaha, I had no idea that Germany has more shopping streets than Belgium. To me it actually didn't even seem that much, probably cause I'm used to it and I think I've seen even bigger shopping streets. And yep, we have some really big christmas markets here! Maybe we can meet if you go to Germany around Christmas, that would be cool! | |

| Thanks Yep, the Atomium is bigger than you would think! I went inside a few years ago, one of those spheres is really big. Between the spheres are escalators. | |

| Hmm. I believe it was build for a world fair. Ah, here you go: The Atomium was the main pavilion and icon of the World Fair of Brussels (1958), commonly called Expo 58. It symbolised the democratic will to maintain peace among all the nations, faith in progress, both technical and scientific and, finally, an optimistic vision of the future of a modern, new, super-technological world for a better life for mankind. .... The Atomium was not intended to survive beyond the 1958 World Fair but its popularity and success soon made it a key landmark, first of Brussels then internationally. It's a pretty original looking landmark if you ask me. | |

| Finally, our aquarium: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] This one is my fav. She is a female betta and she is sooooo sweet. We simply call her "Bettiña" (=lil betta). You touch the glass of the aquarium and she comes to your finger!! And she eats in a so delicate way!! I like her a lot!! And she is not very photogenic, lol [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Unfortunately, this red betta and the blue female betta died... | Your aquarium looks great! Loving it!! And that sounds really cute what Bettiña does. You should film her some time, hehe. She's really cute! Really like the two last ones, they're really pretty. Too bad they died. But you have quite a lot of fish now, don't you? You said in 3 Random Facts that you even bought another 3? Wow. How many fish do you have now? Or did even more die? I hope not. | |
