| It hasn't even started. This is the weirdest winter. This is like the 3rd blizzard size storm this winter that has passed to the South of where I live. And not by much, either. One storm dropped 20 inches of snow 40 miles from here, and we got 1/2 inch. Not even a flurry from this one. And places from Philadelphia to Washington DC are getting their biggest storms in recorded history. | |

| It's really changeable here. I seem to either have the heating on too low or too high most of the time. | |

| Don't you have a thermostat that you can pick a temperature with? I just set mine at one temp at night, and one during the day, and it does well enough. Though with my thermostat the temp is sometimes what the thing is set at, but sometimes can run 3-4 degrees below what the thermostat is set at. | |

| No, mine's one of those stupid heaters that you put on during the night to provide heating for the next day, so my heating temp is usually about 12 hours behind what the actual temp is. It's a pain in the ass. | |

| Sounds like it. Is it a very old building? The building I am in is about 50 years old. And I'm in the apartment furthest from the boiler. So my heat does take a couple hours to warm up as well. And my windows leak badly, so I cover them with sheets of plastic in the winter. | |

| Yep, it's a really old, really draughty building. I think half the heating goes out the windows and through all the cracks. You'd think in cold places they'd make an effort with the insulation! LOL | |

| That depends on who owns the building. If they can't make more money on rent, or just don't care, or the tenant is paying the heat, then they just don't care about it. It could just be too costly to fix. | |

| I still use it elsewhere. But i can't use the animated ones here. I don't change avys because it's all about identity, not about the new and cool thing. And this one is long associated with me. | |

| Most likely you won't be able to upload them to this server, but if you can upload it to another free server and paste the hotlink to the Off-link avatar box, you should be able to use heavy animated gifs. | |

| Did you change it? When I tried I got a file too large error. I'll take another look.
Ok. Got a file too large error again, and then tried it a bit differently and it let me do it.

| Hey, thanks for directing me to these forums. I got the link from Diana's Twitter, but then forgot to save it, so I forgot what the link was! Oops. Fail.
Anyway, how are you? What have you been up to lately?

| Limbaugh is a fascist conservative radio and TV political commentator who is essentially the leader of the Republican party right now, even though he has never held public office. Ge is paid an obscene amount of money to get on the radio and lie about liberals and Democrats. He's a big fat pig and hypocrite. One of the most truly evil people in the US today. | |

| If you followed US politics, you would have. The guy is everywhere. But it's understandable that he's not news in other nations. | |

| At least in Spain, is very few the details we get from local media about US or any other country, for that matter... In fact, it could be said they only mentioned in any time Obama, McCain, Sarah Pallin and Hillary Clinton. There are no more politicians for Spanish people, unless you move yourself and look for info on US media... So you can bet we have no clue who he is... | |

| And that's probably as it should be Many people around the world say that the US is insular when it comes to the news and what we know about the world. And it's true. Our news doesn't really talk a lot about many things that happen in other countries. Many nations have news that tells more about the US than ours does about others. But then, not to be arrogant, but the simple fact is that we are big, and the things that happen here affect other nations. But the American people really could benefit from having a little better idea what people in other nations care about. And what is going on. Still, someone like Limbaugh has a real affect on US politics, but he is not the president. And never will be. So he matters to us, but there's no reason he should matter to you. The news of Spain and nearby nations just effects you more, so that should be what your news cares about. Unless you're a political junkie. And I've never noted that anyone from this group really is | |
